Well, we can celebrate Christmas with a gift to you; in the form of a ratified new local Collective Agreement. 
One week ago today, 26 OT members endorsed the deal with a 96 percentile.  It was a low turnout but it is a crazy time of the year for sure for everyone.

In the new year we will highlight and explain some of the new language within it.  More importantly, we will endeavour to clarify how it impacts you as an Occasional teacher.

In the meantime, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a 2016 full of all kinds of jobs, be it casual or LTO.

It will be held at our office @ 51 King Street - Barrie ON. (Unit 6) with a start time of 4:30 pm.
Obviously only OT members of OSSTF D 17 will be allowed to vote.

RETRIED SUPPLY Teachers: 
I just found that OTPP has an available "APP" that one can use to count days worked within the 50 day restriction rule imposed by the Pension Board. 
Go to www.otpp.com to download the APP and keep track of your days worked throughout the year.

Well, after 7 meetings with the SCDSB and a year and a half of working under an expired contract we have an agreement in principle.  To that end we need to have a meeting to ratify that contract. It will be held on Wednesday December 16 here at our Union Office in Barrie (51 King Street; Unit #6) starting at 4:30 pm.

Work has been very slow as mentioned before but should pick up now that our contract teacher compatriots are getting a bit burnt out with Christmas approaching.
